Selena Gomez has a worldwide reputation as an actor and singer. The Disney film Wizards of Waverly Place was one of her most well-known productions. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. Her birth date was July 22nd the 22nd of July, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Selena's mother, Amanda Cornett, was 16 at the time Selena was born. At the age of 9, Selena landed her debut in the showbiz industry as she portrayed Gianna on Barney and her Friends. This meant she was among numerous children who played with Barney, the infamous anthropomorphic pink dinosaur. Selena was a part of the cast for a number of seasons in Season 7 and 8 between 2001 through 2003. Selena wasn't the only one to sing who appeared on Barney and His Friends - Demi was also a part of this show during this time. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for various shows and movies after the end of Barney and Friends. Her auditions did not go well. There was a small role as a character in Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003. She also had an additional role as Julie as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. Also, in 2006 she appeared as Emily Grace Garcia on the Brain Zapped television program. She played the role and composed a tune.
