Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born performer. She was born on the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was accepted as a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she studied the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. She was able to survive on a student allowance and worked part-time to help supplement her income. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied in her ability as compared to the other students and she pondered what alternative route she could take. Lennox performed flute in a 1976 band called Dragons Playground. The band broke up shortly before they appeared at the time of I.T.V's Talent show New Faces. The singer was the primary vocalist in The Tourists a British pop band between 1977 and 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later be part of Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her first solo album Diva and it was released around 1992. As a commercial album as well as critically, it was an enormous achievement. Nostalgia Lennoxs Six solo album that was released in October 2014 is Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. contains a selection of Lennoxs most loved blues, soul and jazz tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera is a collection of four improvisations for piano, was released by Lennox in May 2019. The E.P. The album is also a companion to her Now I let it go... art installation, which was displayed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is her first self-released album.
