Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed for their rebellious lyrics and punkish style. The band was never able to The Runaways to become a major hit in America but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries particularly Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a solo musician after the group broke up together in 1979. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out for Blood", followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. The albums of Ford were not particularly popular and she went on hiatus for several years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her most popular hits. The success of her was not long-lasting and, for a few years after, she went under the radar. Her release of Black in 1995 followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
