Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer born in Britain. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and rebellious lyrics got them recognized by the rock world. The band did not enjoy much of a following in the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. After the band split in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career with heavy metal.
