Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford, is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get recognized by the rock world. The group wasn't successful within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up from 1979. After taking vocal lessons she debuted her own solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after the albums did not become popular. The singer returned with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her biggest hits. The popularity of her was temporary, and she was gone for a few years. She re-emerged after the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' almost 15 years later. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was made available. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
