Lita Rossana Ford is born in the United Kingdom and was an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. In the late 70s she played as the lead guitar for the hard-rocking all-girl group The Runaways. The group did not have an enormous following within their home country of the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal performer after the band split up in 1979.
