Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and rebellious lyrics got them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was never able to the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of popularity in other countries and in particular Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in heavy metal. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and was largely absent from the world of rock for about a decade. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Unfortunately, the success of her career was not last long and after a few years she disappeared. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
