Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have much of a following within their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. After the band split in 1979, Ford began a successful solo career with heavy metal. After taking voice classes, Ford launched her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford vanished for some time from the scene after the two albums didn't receive the attention they deserved. In 1988, she returned to the world of music by releasing a dazzling album titled "Lita. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge success. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent from the industry for several years. Her return came when she released 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' almost 15 years later. in 2016, the latest album, 'Timecapsule', was made available. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
