Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the women-only hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group wasn't popular within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. She took voice lessons and released her first solo album 'Out for Blood and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford went missing for several years from the music scene following the albums' failure to draw the attention they deserved. In 1988, she came back to the music scene with an amazing album titled "Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she disappeared in the world of music for many years. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The album she released most recently 'Time Capsule was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
