Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American musician, songwriter and guitarist who played lead guitar of the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed in the rock world. The band did not enjoy much of a following within their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad and especially in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal had a great success following the split of the band. Her debut solo album was called 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood. Ford went missing from the music scene for several years after both albums failed to be a huge success. Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, her popularity was short-lived and she remained absent from the world of music for several decades. In 1995, she released "Black," and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
