Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who was the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular in the rock world. The group did not have an enormous following within The United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. After taking vocal classes, Ford launched her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Ford did not achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for about a decade. In 1988, she came back to the music scene by releasing a dazzling album titled "Lita. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. However, the success of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
