Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and raunchy lyrics made them noticed by the rock community. While the group was not popular within The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. The band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever were both big hit songs. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she disappeared from the industry for several years. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
